Nene Park Trust hosts a range of events for visitors all year round. With the school summer holidays well underway this month we also have a range of events designed to keep the kids entertained in the great outdoors. Here's what's happening in the park in August.

Wednesday 4 August
Faces in the Woods - Family Discovery Event
Ferry Meadows Country Park
Use your imagination and scavenging skills to make a face from clay and then explore the woods to find natural materials to decorate it.
Times: 10:00am - 12:00noon
Meet at: Ferry Meadows visitor centre
Cost: free

Picnic on the Meadows

Join the Trust's staff, tenants and friends at Ferry Meadows for this family fun day to include:
Heart FM stage and presenters
Take 4 That & Girl's R Aloud tribute acts
Children's fairground rides
Helicopter pleasure flights
and much more besides!!

Make a kite - Family Discovery Event
Ferry Meadows Country Park
Join Nene Park Rangers and learn how to make your own simple kite from reusable materials found around the home. They you can fly it on the wide open spaces of Coney Meadow, as long as we have a breeze.

Discover the ancient and difficult skill of making fire without matches then try it for yourself with Park Rangers.

The Wild Man of the Woods - Storyteller

Barry Patterson, otherwise known as the Wild man of the Woods, brings his unique story telling skills to Ferry Meadows.
